Understanding meditation correctly

When beginning meditation, many people seek stillness and peace of mind. They want to escape worries about the future and regrets about the past to focus solely on the present moment. This is an important first step, but meditation does not stop there.

Meditation is actually the process of observing the mind objectively and without judgment. During meditation, we do not try to eliminate thoughts or emotions, but learn to recognize them as they arise and pass. This helps us better understand the mind's nature and how it works.

Is meditation only about living in the present?
